NIA searches Saokat Molla’s home and party office, son questioned in Bhangar blast case
A wave of panic swept through the Adityapur police station area in Saraikela on Tuesday morning after unidentified criminals opened fire on the residence of local BJP leader Sapan Das. The brazen attack occurred around 6:55 a.m. in the Saldih settlement of the Ashiana area, highlighting a concerning rise in criminal morale within the district. According to eyewitness accounts and local reports, two miscreants arrived outside the house and fired at least three rounds toward a window before fleeing the scene.
The entire sequence of events was captured on CCTV cameras installed outside the residence. The footage shows the suspects arriving and discharging their weapons while the family members were inside attending to their morning chores. Fortunately, no injuries were reported as the bullets struck the window frame and wall, missing the occupants. The family and tenants immediately alerted the local authorities following the sound of gunfire.
Upon receiving the information, a team from the Adityapur police station rushed to the spot to begin a forensic investigation. Officers recovered empty shell casings from the site and have started scanning the CCTV footage to identify the shooters and the vehicle used in the getaway. Initial investigations suggest the attack may have been intended as a warning or an act of intimidation against the political leader, though the exact motive remains under investigation.
